Challah and other baked goods are baked fresh at The Challah Factory in the East Valley JCC’s kosher kitchen. Place your order online by Monday to pick up on Friday.  

Each week, Chef Melinda creates delicious baked goods, including challah, challah twists, Monkey Bread (pull-apart cinnamon bread), hamburger buns, chocolate chip mandel bread and chocolate chip cookies. Weekly and monthly specials are listed below. Challah, challah twists , hamburger buns, chocolate chip mandel bread and Monkey Bread are pareve; all other products are dairy unless noted otherwise.

All orders must be placed online by 5 p.m. Monday for that Friday’s order.   Orders are available for pick-up on Fridays (10 a.m.-2 p.m.). 

 The EVJCC kitchen is under the kosher supervision of Rabbi Michael Beyo.

Celebration Challahs

Do you need a special challah for an upcoming celebration? The Challah Factory can help!

The Challah Factory now offers a 5 lb. challah for celebrations. The challah is made by Chef Melinda McNeil in the East Valley JCC’s kosher kitchen, which is supervised by Rabbi Michael Beyo. 

Orders must be made at least one week in advance. 

Each 5 lb. challah is $50. Toppings (poppy seed, sesame seed or both) are an additional $5.

About Chef Melinda

Chef Melinda McNeil honed her skills as a chef and baker at the Scottsdale Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School and has worked at the Phoenician Resort, Simply Bread bakery and the Olive & Ivy restaurant. She has baked challah and other baked goods at the East Valley JCC’s Challah Factory since fall 2016.

She also prepares meals for the JBox kosher meal delivery program and for children at the Early Learning Center and Camp Rimon.
