Tuesdays at the J

Tuesdays at the J is a group for individuals and couples ages 55-plus who meet weekly to enjoy presentations on a variety of topics. All sessions are free and no membership is required.

10-10:30 a.m.: Coffee & Conversation with program coordinator Adrian Bendick
10:30-11:30 a.m.: Presentation

The program will be held at the East Valley JCC, 908 N. Alma School Drive, Chandler. The program is designed for those who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19; masks are optional. Note: This session has an option to watch the presentation over Zoom from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Register to receive the Zoom link. 

Registration is required to attend.

Sept. 13: ‘Leonardo: Artist, Scientist, Musician, Mathematician’

Presented by Phoenix Art Museum docent Joyce Durham

Joyce grew up in Omaha Neb., attending nursing school and working the Intensive Care unit before going into management at the hospital. She received her BSN in 1990, became a family nurse practitioner and received her MSN in 2001, at which time she worked in assisted living and rehab facilities.

She moved to Mesa AZ in 1991 and doesn’t plan on moving!

Joyce has always been interested in Art and joined the Docent Program in 2010. She is on many committees for the docents. Much of her service is through the Outreach Program, taking visual presentations to schools and organizations on a vast variety of art related topics.
