Recipients of the East Valley JCC’s Ladles of Love program received an extra special delivery on April 14.
In addition to the kosher meals prepared by volunteers that morning, they also received a box of matzah, as well as a gift of toiletries collected by sixth- and seventh-graders at Beth El Congregation’s Talmud Torah.
The Talmud Torah students, under the direction of their teacher Wendy Rozov, bagged the toiletries and added handwritten cards for the recipients. They also donated the tzedakah they collected during the year to the Ladles of Love program.
“We very much appreciate the important work that your organization does,” said Wendy Rozov in a letter to the EVJCC. “We are happy to share our tzedakah with you this year.”
Thank you to the Beth El Talmud Torah students!
Ladles of Love provides nutritious kosher meals to Valley residents who otherwise may not be able to access a meal. Volunteer individuals and groups meet at the EVJCC’s kosher kitchen once a month to cook and deliver meals Valleywide.
The next Ladles of Love delivery is on Sunday, May 19 and then the program goes on hiatus during the summer. The next round of deliveries begins Sept. 8, 2019. Thank you to the Ladles of Love coordinator Kay Lapid (pictured at the top of the post) and all the volunteers who have prepared and delivered the meals this past year, we appreciate all you do!
