Presented by Rabbi Michael Beyo, East Valley JCC CEO

Rabbi Michael Beyo will share the story about his grandparents’ escape, how it affected his parents and his family, his childhood in Italy after fascism, Italy’s response to the Holocaust and more.

About the Speaker

Rabbi Michael Beyo, EVJCC CEO, was born in Milan, Italy and has lived in Italy, England, France, Israel and the United States. An Orthodox Jewish scholar with a successful career providing religious guidance to all the Jewish denominations, he was ordained as a rabbi in Israel, where he earned three Rabbinical Ordinations of the highest honor.

In 2015 Rabbi Beyo moved to Arizona from Atlanta, where he had served as the Chief Development Officer for Hillel of Georgia, overseeing 12 colleges and universities. Prior to that he served as the executive director and rabbi of Boston University Hillel, as well as the Jewish chaplain for Boston University.

Rabbi Beyo brings over 25 years of professional, entrepreneurial and nonprofit experience in education, cultural, humanitarian, social and religious sectors. He successfully ran several start-ups in Israel before dedicating his career to the nonprofit world.
