Aug. 31 speaker: “Preparing Your Heart and Soul for the High Holy Days” with Rabbi Arthur Lavinsky,
Rabbi Arthur Lavinsky is a retired pulpit rabbi and U.S. Navy chaplain who served his country and his people faithfully with distinction for nearly four decades. He held diverse pulpits from as far away as Stockholm, Sweden all the way to Phoenix, Arizona. While in the Navy Reserve, Lieutenant Commander Lavinsky served Navy, Marine and Coast Guard personnel. With a reputation as a passionate and charismatic preacher and teacher, Rabbi Lavinsky is a respected Jewish scholar and compassionate pastor. Rabbi Lavinsky has published hundreds of articles on the weekly Torah portions and has been interviewed by multiple newspapers, television and radio stations on matters of Jewish tradition and Middle East affairs. An exemplary leader, he has served as president of and board member of a variety of several local and national organizations. He is married to Deborah, a certified Pilates instructor and resides in Phoenix.
